The Journey of 1-Gee
I was raised on Hip-Hop—the music, the culture, the creativity—I loved all of it. But when I became serious about my walk with Jesus, one of the hardest decisions I faced was choosing what I allowed into my ears and heart. I still loved the sound, yet I felt called to listen to music that honored God.

Everything changed when I discovered Gospel Rap. It showed me that I didn’t have to abandon the style I loved to live out my faith. I could embrace the sound of Hip-Hop while boldly sharing the message of Christ. That realization inspired me to start creating Christian Hip-Hop—music that reflects my passion for the culture and my commitment to the Gospel.

For more than 20 years, I’ve used music as a bridge to reach youth and young adults, encouraging them to stand firm and be unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My heart is to spread a message of love, hope, and truth—while making the kind of music I genuinely enjoy. After all, if you don’t love the music you create, how can you expect anyone else to?
